Matolcsi stabbed and "serious"

Post by bennie »

Hungarian warrior Jozsef Matolcsi was stabbed outside a Budapest nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.
Matolcsi, who floored James Hare in a gruelling fight in Manchester in 2003, then returned to fight Ted Bami and feature in a minor classic with Austria's Gotthard Hinteregger at Brentwood in October (which Boxing News made their Fight of the Year behind Carl Thompson-Sebastiann Rothmann), worked as a doorman at the club and was stabbed after he intervened in a fight.
Doctors at the Budapest hospital where the 28-year-old was taken described his condition as "serious".

Bennie is definately back.

Seriously though, thanks for the news yet again. Wish him all the best, this guy is hard as nails and I hope will recover.

If that's the fight I'm thinking of - Sky only showed highlights at the end of the broadcast? I remember being pissed of about that, because the fight looked a real humdinger, including a devastating knockout.

Best of luck to Jozsef and hope he regains his health.

I wish Jozsef Matolcsi a full and speedy recovery.

Apparently police are questioning two men about the stabbing.
