Tony Galento vs Andy Ruiz
To continue with the recent Ruiz love, the fatman who dropped Joe vs the fatman who beat Josh
Re: Tony Galento vs Andy Ruiz
Now here's an intriguing matchup actually.
Galento would probably start strong as he was a lot more aggressive of a fighter than Ruiz. Ruiz would probably be more reactive though against a guy built like Galento who was bringing the fight so much.
I could easily see Galento getting DQ'd honestly because he was a very dirty fighter, but assuming he doesn't I'd say he loses some points along the way, and at least 6 rounds to Ruiz. So I'd take Ruiz on points.

Re: Tony Galento vs Andy Ruiz
Galento was basically a fat fighter with a decent punch. Ruiz in contrast to him is a solid boxer. Ruiz would stop Galento.
Re: Tony Galento vs Andy Ruiz
Galento was a fairly tough guy too though. Out of 26 losses, he was stopped 6 times, mostly by the better contenders of his time. Or of course Joe Louis.
Re: Tony Galento vs Andy Ruiz
Yeah, and I'd say, if Ruiz would have been thrown back in those times, he would have been a one of the best contenders.
Re: Tony Galento vs Andy Ruiz
Yeah I don't see why not. It was no better of an era than the current one.
Doubt he'd have been as fat if he were from that era though. It was the great depression. Times was tough.
