COVID -19 and boxings future

Post by nobleart1978 »

As we are all aware gyms have been shut for 3 months now.

As a trainer/cornerman in the amateur game I am very concerned about how boxing will come out of the coronavirus problem.

One of my co trainers has already told me he's packed it in because he can see more lockdowns in the future. How can you wipe snot, blood and sweat off your fighter with covid about ?

Sad reality is you can’t mate, until there’s a vaccine. The only people in the gym are those who are either professional or elite amateurs who basically are pro and they have no other way because it’s their job. I’ve seen a lot of the pros on their Instagram and they still seem to be very quiet/limited numbers in the gym, they have to really be careful as if they test positive their best case scenario is they won’t be able to fight. Heard some things of later health implications with this virus also. It’s worrying times
