Welterweights: Roberto Duran vs Luis Manuel Rodriguez

15 Rounds Welterweight Bout

Either "The Hands of Stones" of the first Sugar Ray Leonard fight would out-counter and out-slug El Feo with fast heavy combinations on the body and head to take a decision or vice versa for El Feo to take a decision? What do you guys think?

The great Luis Manuel Rodriquez might give The Hands of Stone problems with his slick boxing, but Duran's pressure would be too much. Plus, Duran can counterpunch as good as El Feo.

I think with Duran over 135 it was always a question of which Duran. It was like the question about the Duran vs Mayweather and the Duran we're talking about is 1980 Montreal. That Duran beats Rodriquez by UD something like 10-5. But I also think Money Mayweather would have a good shot vs the Duran that fought Benitez in 1982 (I know, different weight). Duran's big three fights at WW were Leonard I and II and Palomino. (Maybe throw in Monroe Brooks, but he was better at 140). On that, I give Duran the edge at WW

I'd take the Cuban, but it's a close decision for him.
