Obscure, MSG, ESPN, ASPN type fights

Post by AntonioMartin »

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows of any really obscure, ESPN, MSG, ASPN or (even harder to find but I hope) BBC (Sky), TyC Sport etc fights I can watch on youtube without knowing the winner previously?

Ive been trying to find some under "obscure boxing fights" etc on You Tube but to no avail.

I remember when I was a kid watching MSG boxing shows and ESPN and later on ASPN. It didnt have to be the top fights even as i preferred world title fights obviously...just watching them was interesting enough to me. Specially if I didnt know the two combatants because that way I had no preconceived notions as to who'd win!

Thanks and God bless in advance!!

What I mean is, I want to watch some old boxing fights whose winner I don't know, like some Dexter Smith bouts for example or Johnny Torres. 4 rounds, 6 rounders...obviously, say you tell me "you should watch Marvin Hagler vs (name boxer here) on you tube, I know Hagler will win..

But you're right..how can anyone know the results that I haven't seen? ''LOL

A good one that I remember was Tommy Cordova-Freddie Roach.

Give some or these ago, varying lengths all from Asia doubt you'll have seen em. Some are relatively new

All the fights have been taken from the brilliant Closet Classic series Asian Boxing put out on a weekly basis so probably some more in there that would catch your eye too (https://www.asianboxing.info/features/c ... et-classic)

I guess it depends on the depth of your knowledge, as well as what eras you know best and least. A week or so ago I watched a bunch of Bonecrusher Smith fights that happened after the loss to Holmes. I know he won some and lost some, but I don't have it cemented which are which. So I went in not knowing the results. It was fun.

I'd look for fights where you know each guy had some losses, but you don't know but records that well. There are periods where I didn't follow boxing that much, and thus don't know the records very well, and I could go to YouTube and pull up fights where I have no idea who won. Even big title bouts.

One fight I go back to is the Orlin Norris vs Dee Collier match. There isnt much on Dee Collier and he is the guy who knocked out Tex Cobb in 1. I enjoy that match. :TU:

Go to "Coach Strout boxing classics" on youtube. Has a good mix of 80's/90s plus amateur boxing.
