Alan Babic v Shawndell Winters

Post by jameswilson »

Huge step up for the 3-0 Babic here. Albeit against a blown up Cruiserweight but given Babic was not long ago weighing in in the 210s and below.

Upset o clock?

Winters is boarding on a blown up light heavy weight, and 40.. But is a massive step up, he is very decent, and defiantly comes to fight. rare you see someone with 3 pro fights coming in against someone thats actually trying to beat them.

Parker wore him down over 5 or 6 rounds but Winters landed some right on his chin. And obviously Parker weighs 20 odd pounds more than Babic and is infinitely more experienced at a much higher level.

If this is over 8 rounds you can argue Babic can wear him down but if Babic’s stamina ain’t great himself then he might end up sh it creek without a paddle.

Didnt even think of how many rounds it is. i was kinda assuming 10.... and then relised babic hasnt been scheduled more than 4 rounds. IF its 4 then that is very very weak. 6? not great but mabey i guess. 8 is good. 10 is way to big of a step from 4 i guess.

Anyone know how many?

Mark Bennett was initially offered the fight against Babic but 4 weeks notice isnt a great deal of time to get fit especially this time of year when weve had all the upset with Covid. Bennett would have had a decent chance in beating Babic if fully fit and ready to go.

Mark has only just started training again after his last fight in the Ultimate Boxxer. It looks like Bennett could be in line to fight Wardley next up if things go according to plans. If Bennett is fully fit he has a great opportunity against Wardley.

not seen enough of babic, looks powerful enough not sure while he was using parker beating to winters as a slur , as this is obviously big step up for him , think winters wants to just wrap him up when up close be nasty and crude to win , i dont think winter is good enough not to advoid a big shot from babic , so i think he should go at him early , go babic early ko

He's way too small for HW with that style, he might be able to make light heavy

tbf Winters did have some results that still made him a good test on paper for a 3 fight dude

If Babic continues to fight in that reckless, all-attacking style with complete disregard for defence against a higher calibre of opponent then he's surely going to get smoked sooner rather than later, he will bring some entertainment while it lasts mind

Gassiev is a lot more compact with his punches and he picks his spots. A poised stalker and not really an all out slugger. I'd also say he's bigger than Babic. Gass also showed he can mix it up when he comfortably outboxed Dorticos and hardly got hit with a clean punch

Babs will be fun though for sure, seems a bit crazy too

Could Babic do Cruiserweight? Think he would have a lot more success roughing up smaller men. His style wont work against actual heavyweights.

Seems he wants to campaign at heavyweight .

It'll last as long as he's fighting small , poor opposition , the minute he steps up in either direction he gets found out .

For perspective, he weighed in at only 15 and 18 pounds heavier than these 2 guys were in the ring for their lhw fight. To get as shredded as them, he'd have to lose at least that much weight no doubt. They are the same height as him too.
