I was just listening to a podcast interview with Carl Thompson on Boxing Life Stories with Tris Dixon and Thompson admitted he lied about his age when he turned pro and made himself two years younger. Later in the interview he said he was 58 so that makes his year of birth as 1962 not 1964 as shown on his boxrec profile. He also mentions being 26 when he turned pro so again 1962 looks to be his correct year of birth.

Re: Carl Thompson incorrect age
Are Carls own words about his age being a lie not enough to change his year of birth? Or do you only go by what date of birth he presumably registered with the BBBoC?Controversial wrote: ↑26 Aug 2020, 01:21 I was just listening to a podcast interview with Carl Thompson on Boxing Life Stories with Tris Dixon and Thompson admitted he lied about his age when he turned pro and made himself two years younger. On the above link 13 minutes into the podcast Carl mentions being aged 26 when he first thought about boxing as a pro and then at 1hr 04 minutes he says he is two years older.
