Phillip Holiday as a judge

Post by Grant »

As a boxer his record was excellent, just look at his record and who he defended his title against, Lost the IBF title to a prime Shane Mosley in a fairly close contest, of course he Kayoed Jeff Fenech but there can really be no excuse for his Horn Tim Tszyu fight.. would love to know the round breakdown

I thought that scorecard was a bit out but Phil is watching the fight from the one angle where we are getting various camera angles. I’ve just had a look at Phil’s judging record and most of his score cards seem to be in line with the other judges. Maybe a bad night I’m not too sure. I didn’t think Horn won a round and 2 knock downs as well but most of his other scores seem to be on the money or at least with the other judges.

A good judge can have an off night, this card doesn't mean Phil is sh!t or needs sacking of anything like that.

But judges should be accountable, at the very least he should be called in to explain how he got at that score. The first round I can see going to Horn, but no way did he win 3 rounds. Best to get to the bottom of scores like this before they end up being the difference in a result.
