I haven't seen the full version of this fight before, but finally it has appeared on youtube. Actually, it's already nearly a year, after it was uploaded there, but I've just noticed it.
It's quite different from their first meeting. Frazier looked absolutely unstoppable here. Bonavena spent a lot of time on the ropes, forced to cover up from the constant onslaught from Frazier. Oscar majorly had separate episodes, he barely took a couple of rounds. Actually, Bonavena should be given a huge credit for his toughness, for taking all that punishment without being down or stopped. Frazier already was in his prime.
Joe Frazier vs Oscar Bonavena II
Re: Joe Frazier vs Oscar Bonavena II
Yes, seen it before, Frazier was a total monster by this point. Does Klompton or anyone else know whether a version with a live call exists? There must have been one with TV or cinema type presentation, different camera angles etc at least at the time, surely?

also on that closed-circuit broadcast was Sonny Liston vrs Amos "Night Train" Lincoln from Philadelphia
( but that hasn't turmed up since 1968 either it seems)

I know I have seen this fight a long time ago. Might have been on Classic Sports Network. I know that there were announcers, though could have been dubbed in. It's been quite a while, but this version seems different. I also think it was on Youtube several years ago. Bonavena did what he could, but Frazier was just too good for him.

I 'think' the version you have seen may be extended highlights from the above version (meaning from that one long distance shot) with fake crowd and punch FX, and that commentator who called all soundless fights for Cayton's collection. Again, I think. Obviously I don't know what you saw!Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑09 Sep 2020, 15:35I know I have seen this fight a long time ago. Might have been on Classic Sports Network. If so, it mystifies me why the world heavyweight championship wouldn't be broadcast somewhere, with an announcer and lavish production, as like all Frazier title fights before and after.

There is a BBC broadcast.

Bonavena looks like he may have been suffering from Jet Lag or something in that clip, because he looks kindof pasty
for someone just arrived from South America to me.
Is it known for sure if this broadcast was shown live in England or Europe ?
or on a delayed basis.better check the TV schedules for that time there.
