I'm working with Darren Rees (Boxing News Podcast, Preachers Pod, Macklins Take, British Boxing Talk) to produce a series on Chris Eubank.
If you shared a ring, a gym, or a memory with Chris, and want to share that with us, please get in touch!
Memories of Chris Eubank
Re: Memories of Chris Eubank
Not much to add....
.....other than Chris had a sometimes difficult public personna and the press often did not like him either. He was often viewed as awkward, arrogant and stand off-ish.
But I met him in Brighton about 20 years ago and we had a surprisingly long chat and he was warm, generous with his time and actually (to my amazement) a bit shy.
He was the polar opposite of the Eubank who was difficult and supposedly up-himself.
And that comes from a Benn fan.
I think that if you want an "angle" to take a closer look at...it is that Chris had his boxing "character" which was a bit contrived and designed to sell fights (by being a bit of villain and showman) but he is probably someone else.
Definitely an engimatic man.
