Knockout Kings 1998 which fighter was needed on that game?

Post by AntonioMartin »

Hi guys! Remember this game? ?

I was wondering what boxers did you feel were needed in this game?

Ill mention a few I felt were needed:
Mike Tyson
George Foreman
Wilfredo Gomez
Wilfred Benitez
Salvador Sanchez
Johnny Tapia
Bennie Briscoe
Rodrigo Valdes
Lupe Pintor
Felix Trinidad
Mickey Walker
Bernard Hopkins
Danny Lopez (he was on a later version i believe)
Azumah Nelson
Sugar Ray Robinson
Sean O' Grady (as a boxer, he was in the game as a commentator)
Naseem Hamed
Thomas Hearns
Ezzard Charles
Macho Camacho (he was in a later version)
Julio Cesar Chavez (he was on a later version)
Michael Carbajal
Hilmer Kenty
Willie Pep
Sandy Saddler
Billy Conn
Benny Leonard
Sammy Mandell
Sammy Angott
Tony Canzoneri
Tommy Morrison
Carlos Monzon
Emile Griffith
Ceferino Garcia
Ronald Wright

Women boxers:
Christy Martin
Lucia Rijker
Laura Serrano
Deirdre Gogarty
Melissa Hernandez
Dora Webber
Cora Webber

I dont think Anne Wolfe was still a pro boxer when this game was released.

I think that about makes my list of the boxers I felt this game needed. It was the best boxing game i have played yet but it would have been so much more fun had it had those fighters on my list, I think.

How bout you all gamers, who did you feel this game missed?

Why would Anne have to be active? Several of your men were long dead!

Because by being active, the world would know she was a boxer... :D

Like gogarty & the Webber sisters? Admittedly I don't like woman's boxing but I've never heard of them. Hard to imagine them being more recognizable than Wolfe.

Trust me, in 1998, they were...Deirdre actually even had a book about her career published, her fight with Christy Martin is basically considered one of the greatest women fights of all time...

I was quite alive in 1998. Martin was known, none of the others but rijker. I'm guessing Deidre was the one in that bloodbath with Martin that started them getting a bit of shine?

I've never enjoyed a woman's boxing match. Mma is quite good though.

How can one have a boxing game with Duran, Hagler and Leonard but not Benitez, Hearns or SR Robinson???

It costs money, every fighter costs money. Holyfield boxing was the only decent one.

I used to like Ali's boxing on the Mega Drive/Genesis.

Chavez boxing on the SNES was decent. I think it was just a rebadge of an existing game.

The best one was the Ring middleweights on the SNES.
