So, who saw it and what did you think?
Great footage - more than the usual highlights we've all seen. Seems to have been restored somehow - clarity, no missing frames. Lots of archived photos I've never seen before - Jack with wives, in fast cars, etc.
Well written - interesting to both boxing fans and those who might never have known Jack's story before. For me, the film added to his legend, warts and all. Cruel and always unfaithful to his women, self-destructive, reckless - but a one-of-a-kind, charismatic, brilliantly gifted man. His independence stands out even today, and to think he lived a century ago in America and wasn't lynched!

i just hope it is shown on one of the cable progs so that people like me who live in the UK will be able to see it. failing that any chance of someone sending a dvd ???

THE ONLY MISTAKE I FOUND WAS A PHOTO OF BARBADOS JOE WALCOTT IN WHICH HE IS IDENTIFIED AS SAM LANGFORD. OTHERWISE THIS MINOR MISTAKE, IT WAS EXCELLENT.

I agreed with you enrique, and there was another error on the show that Jess Willard was 27 years old (nearly 28), well his age was wrong, because I read his birthday from every book, and it all said that Willard was born in 1881. That's mean that Willard was 33 years old (nearly 34) when he fought Jack Johnson in 1915 for Johnson's title.
