Don't know too much other than his record. But he gets a mention in Boardwalk Empire which was a nice touch by the writers.

What sort of thing are you looking for?

How much do you know already?

If you're getting started, the best place to start is next day newspaper reports for fights. Ones from the day of the fight are often good too.

Luckily most of his fights were in New York so that makes things much easier, as there's plenty of New York papers on online archives, and a fair few freely avaliable.

This is one for California, but it only has one San Francisco paper.

You can find reports for fights in states other than the ones they took place in obviously, but it's mostly best to stick with local ones

This article states Mike McTigue trained with George, maybe research more on that
McTigue's fighting skills defending his boss from an assault one day impressed the man, and he backed him to get into prize fighting. Mike first trained with George “Elbows” McFadden. “Elbows” got his name from his liberal, and illegal, use of his elbows in the ring. Dirty tactics, using elbows, knees and head-butting, were quite common at the time. McTigue said he learned, and used, many techniques then that you could never get away with years later.

Was a sparring partner for Terry McGovern (worth reading this 3 part series)on The Terrible one-
As chief sparring partner he employed the superb lightweight contender George “Elbows” McFadden, the same man who had defeated Kid Lavigne and Joe Gans and fought Erne himself so hard the year before, as shifty and tough a fighter as practiced in the ring at that time.
