I don't know if the 3 knockdown rule was in effect, but generally whether it is or isn't if you go down 3 times in the same round most of the time the fight is gonna be stopped.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Manny Pacquiao 1 is the only fight in recent memory where a guy was dropped 3 times in a round, and allowed to continue.

Good damn thing too. We would've been robbed of one of the sports Great rivalries if that 1st bout had ended in 1st round KO for Pacquiao. Pacquiao would've certainly been spared a lot of headache, and damage.
