99-91 Yoka but my god that was dire, no passmarks for anyone, Hammer just came to spoil and the ref just came to let Hammer spoil, how he never took a point off him for holding I'll never understand, instead he takes a point off for hitting on the break , not impressed with Yoka at all, allowed Hammer to hold and wrestle him too easily, he was technically a lot better obviously, jab was alright when he used it but the right hands were predictable and mostly partially blocked, not enough intent to go through the gears, never worked the fleshy gut of Hammer either, he looked better when Hammer gassed late on but nah that was shite

Yes Yoka just couldnt cope with hammer getting in his face , i think someone like Chisora would be a tougher test .

Povetkin and Ortiz at least looked like they were making it a fight.

Against Yoka it was Hammer, who was dictating the action. The hugging, actually. And Yoka took it. Just outscored Hammer, but wasn't looking impressive.

I'm just watching this now in Spanish on YouTube. I'm on round 4 and Yoka has been to the canvas maybe 4 times when Hammer leans on him in a manner reminiscent of David Haye during the Klitschko fight, where they said they had a tactic for Wlad's holding and leaning and that 'tactic' turned out to be flopping to the canvas and complaining to the ref, which ultimately ended up being awarded as a dubious knockdown and a 10-8 round to Wlad. Strange to see the taller fighter by some inches repeatedly pushed down like that. Like I said he's just decided to flop to the canvas at least 4 times now. Hammer, who looks really fleshy and unfit, has been able to push Yoka around and land shots. He's not rubbish Hammer, as we all know he had Kingpin, Teper and Price on his record (admittedly I think I've only ever watched him fight Fury and Price)so I suppose he's got the experience, and Yoka from what I saw of him in the amateurs had a sort of willowy fragility about him which is coming across here.

Back in I go for another 8 rounds

Well, I didn't think it was that boring at all but my impression still stands that for such a tall bloke Yoka doesn't appear to be very strong, not in comparison to the big boys in the current heavyweight scene: easily manhandled, easily pushed back, pushed down, a kind of lanky floppy guy, and Hammer had decent success landing on him so open to shots too. Hammer is durable we know that (he stood up to David Price's shots who we know, despite his massive chin deficiency, carries serious power) so him standing up to Yoka's shots is not necessarily that much of a black mark, and he was bloodied, but he never looked hurt or in serious trouble at any time. Neither did Yoka, but his lack of strength really seemed apparent here.

He'll need some more tests like this before calling out guys like Joyce who is enormously strong and would probably rag-doll him over 12. You'd have to pick a bull-like pressure fighter like Chisora over him at this stage, and the top 5 would do him over fairly easily based on that performance.

A pro rematch with fellow Olympic rival Filip Hrgovic (who again I think he was 'fortunate' to get the win over- the real final should have been Joyce-Hrgovic in my opinion but Yoka was 2016's Joshua in terms of favourable decisions and being the tournament's Golden Boy) would be the most interesting fight for the frog in my opinion.
