Question: How are the rankings affected by Anthony Joshua's KO 9 win over Kubrat Pulev?

No change. I had AJ number three, but at two makes sense.

One minor thing before the vote gets going, shouldn't you included Hughie against Wach on this?
I could be wrong, but I believe they were ranked higher than Yoka against Hammer, which we did vote on...

Hughie Vs Wach was actually a good performance by Hughie
Yoka Vs Hammer was not a convincing performance by Yoka.

Anyway, based on Joshua v Pulev
I put Joshua at 2

Pulev did enough to show me he deserved to be in the top 10, but I'll knock him down one place to reflect him getting dropped 4 times.

If any of the up and comers beat Pulev they should get lot of respect and good ranking for it.

I think Yoka fight got an vote because Youka got quite many votes in the original ranking. I think he ended up on something like spot 17 on the original list. So voting on hes fight made a lot of sense. Also Hammer is now days better win then Wach. Nobody had Hughie in their top 15 so I don't think that him beating no one relevant changes a thing.

Joyce should be higher than Pulev. Joyce has been defeating top fighter recently and doing more than it was expected from him.

Pulev has been fighting fringes and showed less than expected against Joshua. So, he deserves to be moved down, behind Joyce.

Right. Both Whyte and Povetkin looked like a threat to Joshua. Povetkin even was arguably winning a fight. While Pulev did almost nothing. He was feinting and taking punishment, apart of scoring a couple of good rights.

well,,, Fight proved it, and i'm not convinced both Povetkin and Whyte as good as Pulev.

That's misleading. Some opponents had completely different positions by the moments they faced Fury and Joshua. Fury once beat the inarguable #1 of all HW rankings. Joshua never did that. Fury also beat Wilder, while Wilder was #2 here, if I recall correctly.

A victory over Ortiz alone should not legitimately put anyone at 2. YOu can give someone credit for taking a fight against a high ranked opponent when it happens, but when their value can be assessed retrospectively then that is a superior assessment. Now he has lost his belt, does Wilder have the value of someone ranked that high when you assess his wins? I actually think he is still ranked too high. His best victory in Ortiz is probably a worse scalp than any of Ruiz, Povetkin, Parker or Whyte have. Then it's debatable with the likes of Pulev, Rivas and Kabayel.

"Life and Death" is an overstated view. He wanted to finish him. Take risks and you might get caught, imagine the abuse he would've got if he fought like Fury did. It was very competitive but he won conclusively by the end. It's also worth noting that when the fight was stopped, two judges would have the AJ-Klitschko scores at: 105/106 to 101 with Klitschko holding on and one round to go. Fury-Klitschko ended 115/116 to 112/111.

It was literally life and death, as Joshua was outfought in the same round he knocked Wlad down, while he was down himself in the next one and objectively lost a series of the following rounds. Against Fury Wlad clearly took only the last round.
