Semi Final vs the equally talented 20 year old Ilya Popov. Popov showed beautiful skills to win the first round, but Shakirov came back to win the next 2 rounds. initially i the judges gave the victory to I Popov but after considering the protest, the result was changed. Shakirov is in red, Popov in blue.
despite 'losing' on paper in the final against Gabil Mamedov ^ shakirov clearly dominated all three rounds.
The russian federation made up for the robbery by Awarding the very strong and talented for his age Shakirov ' boxer of the tournament..

I love to follow pro prospects & I figured that's what Shakirov is. But after checking his record it's apparent Ilya does not even have any pro bouts scheduled!! https://boxrec.com/en/amateurboxer/980801
Shouldnt this thread be moved to AMATEUR SCENE since Shakirov is strictly an amateur boxer?

maybe so. I wasn't aware there was a amateur forum till I saw you post this comment.
