The bout is listed as a TKO2 victory for Carpentier. This should be changed to TKO8 victory for Til instead, per post-fights reports in L'Auto (Nov 30, 1909, page 4), Dunkerque-Sports (Dec 5, 1909, page 5), Boxing (London, Dec 11, 1909, page 354). Carpentier hurt his knee when he jumped out of the ring after his victory over Charles Ledoux several days prior, and was still limping when he arrived for Til bout. He was forced to go on with the fight despite the injury and lasted until the 8th round when Descamps threw up the sponge.

Thanks. The details here were based on a short report in the day-after Journal de Roubaix of the nearby city. L'Auto offers a more detailed description, so I've made the change.
