Wow, that is getting extra stupid to not rank guys that are activly fighting at heavyweight.

So is this bridgerweight a real thing now? I stopped paying attention as soon as it was announced. Didn't think they'd go ahead with it

He needs to beat someone other than Tom (0-137-1) all the time.

Bridgerweights should just be treated as heavyweights for Boxrec ranking purposes

that a bit weird. If boxrec doesn't recognise Bridgeweight I get it but they should rate them as cruiser or heavy surely.?

ya i agree, i mean it was a hw really since zhang obviously isnt a bridgerweight, plus the other 3 main bodies dont have bridger so forrest is a hw by their standards

The last thing the sport of boxing needs is the bridgerweight weight category.

This couldnt be any stranger. Boxrec creating policy and punishing fighters for being ranked.

Why not just rate the fighters at the division they fought last? And if they ever fight as an "official" Bridgerweight.. they move into Heavyweight?? Seems obvious.

It's incredibly bad. I always look to boxrec for ratings that are not affected by any other ratings. Why, in this case, does boxrec now acknowledge a stupid decision by an alphabet organization, especially when it keeps quality fighters from appearting in the boxrec ratings.

It almost sounds like a petty squabble.

Many of us have pointed out to John, how illogical it is not to rate these guys at heavyweight if you don't recognize bridgerweight, but he is not listening.

I'm not suggesting that boxrec add a bridgerweight category to their rankings. But what I AM saying is that boxrec should not be entirely erasing 25 active fighters just because a specific ABC body has chosen to rank them as bridgerweights. Like, they aren't even ranked by boxrec in any division, not even as heavyweights.

This would be like if boxrec decided that they don't like the WBC silver belt, so they removed all WBC silver champions from their divisional rankings. Like... what? You're just going to act like the man doesn't exist because he carries the silver belt (or is ranked by WBC as a bridgerweight)?
