The ol' betting for the week thread
The ol' betting for the week thread
I was thinking about bringing the weekly topic back that I used to post years ago. I saw the British section used to have a pretty active one that disappeared. We still have any bettors or interested people on the site in betting still?

throw it down my man, its interesting to see even for non betters
Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
It'd be interesting to have a thread where we post the odds of upcoming bouts. I know the odds vary from place to place, but it'll at least give you a Ballpark estimate of where they're at.
Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
Should we just do a continually running thread, or a new one per week?

It'll start like that, then it'll be who's gonna win the boat race.

It's coming up in just over a week.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑24 Mar 2021, 03:47 well if it comes to that then fine my man, but no boat races yet![]()
Just curious who do you think will win anyway ?
Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
It must have kicked back in. Though I think if each board had one, it wouldn't be a terrible thing. A lot of times posters won't really look at the other forum, for whatever reason.
Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
I should have beat Whyte/Povetkin under, I knew it didn't have a realistic chance. Looking forward to April 10th, could be a solid wekend (hopefully) of betting.
Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
I like the prop bet of Herring by decision at (+150). Frampton is on the downside of things, at a size disadvantage, and 130 isn't his optimal weight either. With the fight in Dubai, he won't even have the crowd behind him. I'll take it as a medium bet. Was looking at 2 other fights, but I anticipate a lot of action next weekend.

Welp.......
I thought Herring was a solid pick. Tried to save money going via the decision.

Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
those look good. courtenay's opponent is a fraud boxer who cant actually box, and howard is a very chinny guy going vs a much bigger guy with some pop. jah can take out karpency at any time, only issue with such a low under is if he decides to mess around a bit
i think the odds on dulorme winning are pretty generous too, though i do think stanny should prob beat him but was surprised to see stan as big as an 11-1 fave over a much more experienced guy who went so close with ugas and vargas

Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
I don't follow the women too much, but my friend suggested the Courtenay fight. He usually has a good feel for these, so figured might as well. Along with Howard being chinny, he does possess some power of his own. Who knows, maybe he'll spring an upset. At 40, with a weak chin, it's not a great combo. With the spotlight on Anderson, I think he'd be wise to take Karp out, who looks out of shape to boot.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑10 Apr 2021, 02:47 those look good. courtenay's opponent is a fraud boxer who cant actually box, and howard is a very chinny guy going vs a much bigger guy with some pop. jah can take out karpency at any time, only issue with such a low under is if he decides to mess around a bit

I feel the same on that fight as well. Odds seem too wide. I think Ennis stops Lipinets later in the fight, but the odds on it make it seem like a 4 round walk over.
Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
Shouldn't have followed my friend on the women's fight! Still can't complain with 2-1.
Re: The ol' betting for the week thread
A lot of action this weekend, betting wise, but I can see some of the fights going variable ways. So just made one small play, which I usually don't parlay a ton, but:
Andrade/Apochi both outright. Comes to + money.
Betting record since summer of 2019:
High- 2-0
Medium- 13-6
Small- 7-7
2021 overall- 6-7

What are the odds on Cunningham vs Mir? Because that seems like a guaranteed win for Cunningham.

Yeah and Mir ain't a Boxer. He's not a MMA fighter that's known for his striking either.
