Heavyweights: Primo Carnera versus Nikolai Valuev...battle of the giants!!

Post by AntonioMartin »

Who, how and why? (why would it happen being an obvious question even to myself, but I will answer that: it would be a HUGE fight!!)

I'd have to favor Valuev. He wasn't particularly good, especially for his size, but he'd have half a foot of height on Primo. I think that type of leverage would enable Valuev to prevail. Plus he had an iron jaw and skull of steel.
Valuev by fairly narrow but clear cut UD.

Carnera had a better jab, which would be enough to deal with slower Valuev.

Between the two, Carnera would have more speed than Valuev, but Valuev would out-jab and out-punch the Ampling Alp for a decision win.

Carnera by decision with the jab.

It would be so slow people would think they're looking at a photograph.

Carnera was 6'6 - a big man... But hardly super, super big...
Valuev is over 7 feet....
Valuev wins by stoppage

If it was in the early part of Primo's Career I'm sure Carnera's management would intervene on his behalf.

Alp, you just disagreed with someone who has clearly stated that he knows the ropes. And is accurate on all levels.

Now what? I mean you both can't be right.
