The IBO Title: Rules and Regulations

Post by gilgamesh »

Looks like the IBO Title is pretty well already established, I've been asked to oversee the IBO so I shall do so with integrity.

I see no reason to change much about the way it's currently operating. The Bouts will be 12 rounders. As Champion you're also eligible for a shot at the Major World Titles should you achieve a high enough ranking so if you'd rather seek the IBO let the record show you're a man of questionable fortitude.

An IBO Champion is eligible to challenge for a World Title, but upon winning it must vacate the belt. If he loses his World Title shot, he is within his rights to go back to defending the IBO Title.

If an IBO Championship is vacated the Vacant Title shot will be offered to whomever is ranked #11 and #12 respectively. Going into the following week.

I think that covers everything.

Oh and now that Buzz's rankings actually are numbered and quite official (no more of this Good, Bad and Ugly business), my rankings can be ignored, and will be updated no longer.

So that will be the list to go by when determining IBO Vacancies.

Obviously a Hostile takeover of the once great IBO sanctioning body.

On the other hand it was an underfunded and under appreciated organization....so your vigilance and hard work should probably be pointed out.

and while we are on the subject of your rules....

11 & 12 based on the Softwares rankings? (listed in my rankings thread) or Creases point system?....or some sort of sneaky system of your own?

Does this include CPU opponents that may end up as 11 and 12 in the rankings? Or do you disrespect the pool opponents? CPU careers matter......but who knows if you see it that way. You and your ivory tower life style....you may not recognize that Benny Bass and George Dixon will be vying for a major title this week. And they managed to slip past both your and my well trained fighters.

This is the sim world we find ourselves in.

I hope (unlike our current president,) you can actually answer a thing or two about these very important issues of the day.

Your concerns are well understood Commish. So let me lay out with a little more clarity.

Title vacancies will be filled by the #11 and #12 ranked fighters according to Buzz's rankings. Since his rankings seem to be updated by the Software and the Software's own results. Those seem to be the most logical to follow.

If either of the vacant managed fighters choose not to accept their opportunity, then the chance will fall to whoever is ranked #13, or #14 etc. on down the line until we get a challenger to fill the vacancy.

Once one is the reigning IBO Champion he is required to face a CPU or Managed opponent (obviously Managed is encouraged) who is ranked within the Top 25. As long as the Champion continuously meets these criteria no Mandatories will be enforced.

If a Champion dares to try to sneak around the rules, and challenge a fighter who is ranked below the Top 25...well he may actually get away with it once, but you can best believe he'll pay the penalty in the following week as the IBO allows no shenanigans!

For clarity I've left the official rules of this post in Bold.

Thank you, from your Acting President of the IBO.

Any questions from participants or others who may be concerned can be appointed to me here in this thread.
