A Porter fight to me is like throwing two cats in a pillow case but this kid is the only one at WW that will be able to say that he fought the best in his era. Then, let’s consider that he’s lost 3 out of the 4 biggest fights of his career with that 1 win coming against Danny Garcia that was deemed to be somewhat controversial.
To me, it comes down to his performance against Bud Crawford, providing it ends up happening. If he can make it a competitive showing and loses a close decision, he gets my vote. Just for being the only one that can say he took them all on. Thoughts?
Is Shawn Porter a HOF’er?

No, very good fighter with underrated skills but not even close to hof. He would have to beat bud to even pose the question.

Absolutely not. Great fighter But has legit losses to Brook, Spence, and thurman. Plus arguably Didnt beat Ugas or Danny garcia either. Porter is a great player in the division, entertaining, willing to fight anyone But not HOF.

when is the thurman hof'er thread coming
Re: Is Shawn Porter a HOF’er?
Let him continue his career and let's see what happens.
Shawn is an awkward boxer to face, none of the top guys he's fought had it easy.
Porter is one of those fighters that if you don't produce your A game he will likely beat you.
I think all the top Welterweights [A group which he is part of] take him very seriously.
You saw him against Errol, the late knockdown was the difference in the fight.

Right now no. And probably he never will be a one. He has lost all biggest fights.

Re: Is Shawn Porter a HOF’er?
Shawn Porter’s resume and accomplishments are definitely better than some fighters that have already been indicted into the IBHoF.
So a reasonable argument can be made to suggest he’s already Hall-of-Fame worthy.
However, there are lots of really good fighters with fantastic resumes whose names are persistently included in the annual voting ballot, but always fail to receive sufficient votes to get inducted, such as:
• Yuri Arbachakov
• Jorge Arce
• Paulie Ayala
• Nigel Benn
• Timothy Bradley
• Vuyani Bungu
• Ivan Calderon
• Joel Casamayor
• Sot Chitalada
• Diego Corrales
• Miguel Cotto
• Chris Eubank
• Carl Froch
• Leo Gamez
• Ricky Hatton
• Genaro Hernandez
• Chris John
• Mikkel Kessler
• Santos Laciar
• Rocky Lockridge
• Miguel “Happy” Lora
• Rafael Marquez
• Henry Maske
• Dariusz Michalczewski
• Sung-Kil Moon
• Michael Moorer
• Orzubek Nazarov
• Sven Ottke
• Vinny Paz
• Gilberto Roman
• Gianfranco Rosi
• Samuel Serrano
• Antonio Tarver
• Meldrick Taylor
• James Toney
• Fernando Vargas
• Israel Vazquez
• Wilfredo Vazquez
• Ratanapol Sor Vorapin
And I feel that Porter’s resume is weaker most of the aforementioned names, which means he’ll probably never get inducted (unless he’s capable of achieving great things in the future).
