Jim Watt vs Vilomar Fernandez

Jim Watt vs Vilomar Fernandez

15 rounds.

Could Vilomar have pulled off the upset ?

He won a 10 round decision vs Arguello in 1978.
And he lasted until the 13th vs Duran in 1977.
His bout with Davis in 1980 was quite a competitive effort as well. He actually put Davis on the deck.

I think that Watt would likely win, mainly because of the Southpaw stance. I don't see him putting away Fernandez though. Watt was a converted southpaw. If he had been orthodox style, he would probably lose to someone who is quick, slick, awkward, and tricky like Vilomar was, despite the height and reach difference, and Watt being the profoundly Stronger of the two.
Watt was a Very Good counter-puncher. It's Really something how becoming a Southpaw can improve certain types of boxers So Much.
