Riddick Bowe - Jesse Ferguson WTF? Also Bowe was dirty trash

I think it was Bowe’s birthday recently, loads of posts on him. Many seem to hold him in high regard. I liked him at the time though was annoyed he avoid Lennox. But looking back his only wins of note were against Evander who he outweighed hugely. He spent his career beating up smaller has beens, or guys who never made it. He was a terrible bully, hitting behind the head and often when the opponent was on the floor defenceless….. (Bowe, Ferguson) He undeservedly bounced two huge bare knuckle shots off a passive Larry Donald’s unprotected head at a press conference. He hit Tillery blatantly after the bell and the attacked him as he was dragged over the ropes by the equally odious Rock Newman (now estranged from Bowe…) He was battered by the barely world class Golota twice, despite the weird ending (he also hit Andrej low LOL.)

His crew were real bullies attacking defenceless and outnumbered civvies. Judge a man by the company he keeps, and Bowe hung with lowlives. Out of the ring Riddick was equally classy beating up and kidnapping his wife.

Watch the Ferguson fight to see how dirty he was. But the thing that really shocked me was Larry Hazzard refereeing. He should have been banned for life. Dirty bastard Bowe (again) hits his opponent when he’s on the floor with a flush shot, and Hazzard does nothing…... Some could’ve DQ’d Bowe but at very least a warning and recovery period is necessary…. Then brain dead Hazzard ‘picks up’ the fight at 5, when Ferguson has been down for 7 seconds and administers the slowest count ever, the clock is visible for reference, one count he makes is clearly 2 1/2 seconds long….. Ferguson is down for 18 seconds…. And is completely gone. Hazzard let’s Jesse go on. And has the cheek to say ‘you all right?’ Before allowing Ferguson back to the corner. Predictably he gets flattened in seconds….

I felt sickened watching this…. Jesse was a noble servant of the sport and deserved a payday but not his life being left in the hands of the incompetent Hazzard…

Bowe is a cool mofo.

Yes, he was dirty frequently, that Tillery stuff was worthy of an equal penalty and the Donald stuff was a legit crime. Yet there's some charm in a badass gangsta Riddick (I can rewatch the Donald presser cheapshots on the repeat for hours ).

Anyway, his skillset was very high. Great speed for his size, a variety of punches in arsenal, an excellent inside game for a 6'5 behemoth. Great chin and determination (in fights).

A win over prime Holy alone was a helluva achievement. Being first to KO him was important as well.

Yet he lacked dedication in the gym and his prime was short.
