PROMOTER and manager allegedly has threatened to pull Alex Arthur out of his proposed British super-featherweight title clash on March 18 at the Kelvin Hall - unless Craig Docherty’s managerial team of Barry Hearn and Tommy Gilmour confirm within 48 hours that the fight will definitely go ahead.
Said an angry Warren: "I read about Craig Docherty apparently changing his ring cornerman from John McDermott to Kris McAdam and it’s ridiculous because everyone seems to know more about what’s going on with this promotion than I do.
"I’m really also annoyed that there have been no press conferences so far to publicise the fight and sell tickets. Unless I hear from either Tommy Gilmour or Barry Hearn that the fight is definitely going ahead then I plan to withdraw Alex Arthur from the bout."
Gilmour and Hearn have, as yet, failed to attract TV backing for the fight and said yesterday the fighters may have to take a paycut.
Arthur, meanwhile, today threw money behind Javier Alvarez to beat Michael Gomez to the WBU super-featherweight world title on Friday.
Arthur put down £100 at odds of 8-1 after Ladbrokes had invited him to make a charity bet.
