Press Release | Archie Sharp vs. Alexis Boureima Kabore on ESPN+

The MTK Global card next month will be broadcast live in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and worldwide on IFL TV, and will also feature a number of talented rising stars.

On October 29 at York Hall in London, Archie Sharp (20-0, 9 KOs) is back following his victory over Diego Andrade Chavez in July, as the WBO's #2 ranked fighter looks to move one step closer to a world title shot.

Standing in his way is Alexis Boureima Kabore. (28-4, 7 KOs), who has previously gone the distance with former world champion Rey Vargas, and held the WBC International super-bantamweight title.

Elsewhere on next month's bill, Kazakh sensation Tursynbay Kulakhmet (4-0, 3 KOs) makes another defence of his WBC International super-welterweight title, taking on knockout specialist Juan Carlos Abreu (23-6-1, 21 KOs).

Kulakhmet has risen through the ranks at a rapid speed since making his debut last year, but now jumps up in competition once again to meet Abreu, who has faced Jaron Ennis and Egidijus Kavaliauskas in his career.

Unbeaten star Shabaz Masoud (8-0, 2 KOs) will have his hardest challenge yet, going up against former British and Commonwealth title challenger James Beech Jnr (13-2, 2 KOs).

Dublin hotshot Pierce O'Leary (7-0, 3 KOs) also makes his highly-anticipated return, while undefeated fighters collide in a great domestic battle, as Jordan Reynolds (2-0) meets Randal Barlow (2-0).

Former Southern Area champion Sam Gilley (11-1, 5 KOs) squares off with Daniel Lartey (14-4-1, 12 KOs), and hard-hitting cruiserweight Will Hamilton (2-0, 1 KO) takes on Ivo Zednicek, plus three exciting debutants will enter the professional ranks on the card too, with 'Sugar Shy' Shiloh Defreitas, Joe Giles and Lerone Harrison each competing.

MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton said: "We're delighted to be back with a bang with yet another stacked MTK Fight Night in October. Over the past year it's been clear that we pride ourselves on making competitive cards full of 50-50 fights, and that will be the same again for this show.

"It's a great privilege to have Archie Sharp headlining the event in what will be a tough test against Alexis Boureima Kabore. Archie has world title ambitions, and this fight gives him the chance to show everybody that he belongs at that level.

"We have some of the very best undefeated rising stars in action too, including Tursynbay Kulakhmet, Shabaz Masoud and Pierce O'Leary, plus two undefeated fighters putting it all on the line early in their careers as Jordan Reynolds faces Randal Barlow.

"Sam Gilley, William Hamilton, Joe Giles, Sugar Shy and Lerone Harrison are on the bill too, with the remaining opponents for those fights set to be announced shortly, so this looks certain to be yet another can't miss MTK Fight Night event."

The WBO are one of the worst for the quality of some of their top rated fighters.

How the hell did Okolie’s last opponent get ranked mandatory?! Same with Sharp - he’ll take few risks now so he solidified his ranking waiting to be number 1.

Same thing with all Frank's boxers.

Catterall and Yarde did the same.

Might be..

Frank isn't even putting on any shows.

Could have gotten Sharp on a card in October..

What's up with Frank.

Sharpe has only impressed me in about 2 fights- he’s probably a better wrestler than he is a boxer.

If he is still with Warren, Frank should tell him to fight Cacce in early 22.

Warren has got Oct 9 & Nov 6th shows booked.

Im guessing Joyce maybe fighting late November and I guess 2 shows in December Arthur - Yarde 2 and Maybe Dubois headlining another card…he needs to nail things down though as it is looking sparse.

Who’s fighting November 6th?

Agree with matching Sharp with Cacace but that’s not happening. Sharp isn’t risking his ranking against Cacace when most would favour Cacace. Would be a good fight though.

Unless the situation has changed there is no opponents yet, which is not acceptable. Zach Parker has said he has secured a step up opponent and it’s supposed to be Clarke v Chelli, so I will hold off until next week, before giving Warren too much stick.

How strange. No mention of this that I can see on Warren’s site yet only a month away. Weird to be going back to Birmingham again too albeit I can understand it given how well Heaney sells. Is that 3 in a row main BT shows (excluding the prospect show) in Birmingham?

Tickets are on sale which is a bit of a joke really considering not one opponent has been confirmed.

The last time I went to a show in Birmingham was Frank’s magnificent 7 show - loved it.

Archie has won/defended his European title about 4 times.
It always made me wonder why he skipped over the British title.
I mean, good on him for making a good run with the Euro, just seemed strange is all.

Wbo European title is a trinket belt. Woodstock mccroy Gerarthy are all below british title level.

Just listened to an interview with Lennox Clarke. He said him and Chelli will be next year and he implied his November fight will be a bit of a warm up for that.

Press Release | MTK adds Pierce O'Leary to Oct. 29th show

Irish junior welterweight Pierce O’Leary will take on Turkish-born Siar Ozgul when MTK Fight Night returns to York Hall in London on October 29th. The show will be broadcast live in the US on ESPN+ and worldwide on IFL TV, and is headlined by a super featherweight bout between Archie Sharp (20-0, 9 KOs) and Alexis Boureima Kabore (28-4, 7 KOs). O’Leary (7-0, 3 KOs) was last in action in June, where he produced a highlight-reel knockout by stopping Jan Marsalek in round two of their bout. The 21 year-old Dubliner now squares off with Ozgul (15-6, 3 KOs), who is looking to replicate the form that saw him win the Southern Area 140-poud title back in 2017. Ozgul, who lives in the UK, has also gone the distance with the likes of Viktor Postol, Anthony Yigit, Sean McComb and Samuel Antwi.

ADDITIONAL BOUTS

Elsewhere on this month’s bill, Kazakh junior middleweight Tursynbay Kulakhmet (4-0, 3 KOs) faces knockout specialist Juan Carlos Abreu (23-6-1, 21 KOs)...

Weleterweight Sam Gilley (11-1, 5 KOs) squares off with Daniel Lartey (14-4-1, 12 KOs)...

Welsh star Sean McGoldrick (10-1, 3 KOs) will also make his highly-anticipated return to the ring, as he is back in action for the first time in over 18 months when he faces Stephen Jackson (1-4). McGoldrick won a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, along with a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and has his sights set on soon winning the first title of his professional career...

The planned fight between Shabaz Masoud and James Beech Jnr has unfortunately been called off, after Beech tested positive for the coronavirus..

Undefeated fighters collide in a great domestic battle, as Jordan Reynolds (2-0) meets Randal Barlow (2-0)...

Hard-hitting cruiserweight Will Hamilton (2-0, 1 KO) takes on Ivo Zednicek (2-7)...

Three debutants will enter the professional ranks on the card too, with ‘Sugar Shy’ Shiloh Defreitas facing Fonz Alexander, plus Joe Giles and Lerone Harrison will each compete, with opponents for those two announced shortly. Further news on the MTK Fight Night event on October 29th will be announced over the coming days and weeks.

To be fair Jackson has been competitive in his defeats and is better than his 1-4 suggests.
Perfect opponent for McGoldrick to shed ring rust.

Press Release | Pierce O'Leary vs. Siar Ozgu Set Down For MTK Fight Night Card, October 29

Undefeated Pierce O’Leary will take on former Southern Area champion Siar Ozgul when MTK Fight Night returns to York Hall in London on October 29.

This month’s card will be broadcast live in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and worldwide on IFL TV, and is headlined by a WBO Global super-featherweight title fight between Archie Sharp (20-0, 9 KOs) and Alexis Boureima Kabore (28-4, 7 KOs).

O’Leary (7-0, 3 KOs) was last in action in June, where he produced a Knockout of the Year contender by viciously stopping Jan Marsalek in round two of their bout.

The 21-year-old Dubliner now squares off with Ozgul (15-6, 3 KOs), who is looking to replicate the form that saw him win the Southern Area super-lightweight title back in 2017, while he has also gone the distance with the likes of Viktor Postol, Anthony Yigit, Sean McComb and Samuel Antwi.

Welsh star Sean McGoldrick (10-1, 3 KOs) will also make his highly-anticipated return to the ring, as he is back in action for the first time in over 18 months when he faces Stephen Jackson.

The planned fight between Shabaz Masoud and James Beech Jnr has unfortunately been called off, after Beech tested positive for COVID-19.

Elsewhere on this month’s bill, Kazakh sensation Tursynbay Kulakhmet (4-0, 3 KOs) makes another defence of his WBC International super-welterweight title, taking on knockout specialist Juan Carlos Abreu (23-6-1, 21 KOs).

Undefeated fighters collide in a great domestic battle, as Jordan Reynolds (2-0) meets Randal Barlow (2-0), while former Southern Area champion Sam Gilley (11-1, 5 KOs) squares off with Daniel Lartey (14-4-1, 12 KOs).

It doesn't deserve to be. This should be in the gym, after he has sparred 10 rounds with someone who has a pulse as a warm down.
