Both men are basically evenly matched, at least on paper. No offense to Ward but he is remembered at all because of the trilogy with Gatti. Take away those fights and you have a man with a pretty shallow resume.

Ward came up through a harder road than O'Grady but O'Grady had a better overall skillset. Problem with O'Grady was he had no real toughness, while Ward was very tough.
