So we all got a good look at Dan Azeez against a known quantity, and live dog in the form of Burton.
I was impressed at his speed, punch selection and accuracy for a 14 fight pro.
He said he wants the traditional route- to me that means Area, British, Commonwealth, Euro, World.
He has won his area titile
He has won and defended the British.
Lyndon Arthur holds the commonwealth and WBO intercontinental - is he ready for the loser of that?
Bolotniks has the Euro- maybe a step to far for now.

Burton is a known quantity and a decent fighter and Azeez won at a canter.

Does that suggest that Azeez is that good or Burton was finished, tbh I dunno, because doing that to a prime Burton would suggest he is def ready for a Euro in his next fight.

I actually think Bolotniks would be a good fight. He had a closer fight with Burton than Azeez did and may have dropped a level after the tough fight he had with Buatsi.

Bolotniks isn’t the European champ though I don’t think.

I’d like to see him in with Richards but can’t see it happening. I wonder where he is promotionally and signing for Boxxer will make the good domestic fights tricky.

Important thing at 32 is activity, get out again as soon as possible against these guys

I don’t think Arthur wins his next fight to be honest but if he does then he’ll see himself a level ahead of Azeez so I can’t see it happening.

The old light middle is fairly dead on world scene at the moment! Although I suppose we did have an undisputed fight this year so not all bad

Great performance v Burton, absolute domination to be honest. Would be happy to see the Bolotniks fight next, haven't seen Bauderlique yet - is he useful?

My mate Daz Rhodes beat Roberts and drew with Dixon. Michael Jones beat him, he's one for the list.

Showboating, once he found Burton's power to be not a threat. Big turn off for me. He was egging Burton in. Well that's how I saw it. That means to me he needs his future opponents to be stepped up. Too many knockovers and his head will swell too much.

To me the fight looked like a muscled grown man beating up a 15 year old. Too strong

Yeah - I often think quite a few of Joe Gallagher’s fighters stay too long at a weight.

It was similar with Callum Smith against Canelo. He may not have won a round regardless of the weight but he did seem long overdue a move up.

There’s a big difference between making weight and being strong at the weight.

Agree maverick, he's taller than many heavyweights, he had nothing on him the other night he was so stick thin.

The cruiser division isn't particularly stacked domestically compared to light heavy so he could give it a could go and grow into it.
