Don’t sleep on Cruz as they say. The Mexicans call him the mini Tyson, and you know if they’re saying that south of the border, this guy is probably a real hand full and can HIT.

Davis looks a true superstar though, but he’s gonna be feeling the heat on Saturday night …..

tank is legit but he keeps jumping around vs meh opponents and this is another one. he admitted straight up that he doesnt fight top opposition (which i found shockingly honest tbf) and his team said that they wont fight any one who is not with pbc, cutting out a huge chunk of the guys we want to see him fight

tell me, how many ppl were talking excitedly about tank vs cruz before this was announced? 0, its not a fight anyone wanted. i have seen tons of cruz, and well he's a solid little guy with a fun style he's way out of it here. best scenario i can see is we get a couple fun early rounds while tank feels him out, then it starts to turn to beat down by the 3rd or so

i have seen him fight many many times. tyson comparison is inevitable because of the whole short and powerful thing, though he is more of a volume fighter with heavy hands, rather than a legit massive puncher with precision combos like tyson. he's a solid fun little guy and can be in some good fights if matched right, but way out of his depth here

agreed on all points, but cruz is a much better fight than romero. Alex just come back from mexico, and did a few sessions with him. cruz is part of the muira gym (straffon) and its not that far from the romanza. He didnt really have any problems with cruz and found him easy to hit. Tank inside 6 in a fun fight, because cruz will bring it regardless.

however much a tit teo and his pops may be , i give him credit for fighting and of course beating loma at 23. hed only had 1 title fight going into that too. none of the endless years of marinating and 'learning on the job' conveniently by fighting crap

tanks done nothing like that, and still at 27 (hes 3-4 years older than teo, garcia, and haney) ppl pull out the 'but hes so young and has time' card. he's a serious talent and they dont need to be soft with him. if he wants reap the rewards of that in full he needs to stop the hopping around fighting 2nd/3rd tier guys

Most trainers will throw you in if they think you're that good, like Naz, Hatton etc. They were ready to go at 18.

Yes I’ve seen Isaac fight and yes he’s definitely going to bring it, even more so with the underdog Mexican status looking to bash up the flash brash yank tank - doubt he will, but I doubted Gorgeous George the same last w’end so what the hell do I know ….

He can punch. I know that much.
But could he beat a top LW or SLW?

Tank is not a 140 so i dont care if he can beat a top 140 right now. HE is a classic 135 right now so i do care about that. At 135 weight i think he is elite, but your right we just dont know. His "deadly" power only shows up at 130 or after lots and lots of acumulation in the higher weights. His chin is untested, his heart is untested. But eye test he is most definatly elite, i just hope we get to find out.

I know I come across as pedantic, but I can't rate a guy past what he has faced. And he has faced B level opponents. Against them he has done really well. But then so have a lot of guys, until they face a legit top tier champion.
I think Kambosos would jab and counter the snot out of him, Loma on a good night would box rings around him, Teo of last year would probably square up to him. But I'm only guessing because he hasn't been near those guys and I'm sure there is a reason why. At 27 and 25 fights in he should be at least trying to fight a legit champ.

Oh i totally agree they should match him to prove he is elite. And I hate that they won’t. But I absolutely know he’s legit. Which is why it makes me hate boxing so much, that it can be this way. I’m not saying you are wrong, boxing is wrong, which makes you right, you’re just reserving judgement till the proof comes, I’m slurping the kool aid

Davis won quite clearly, but not in impressive fashion. It was a 8-4-ish win. Cruz was way too one-dimensional. Davis was gun-shy and far from deadly, he mostly outtapped Cruz, but he did it. A mediocre fight, a fair result.
