I've always liked training 5 days (Mon-Fri) and having the weekends off. I pretty much stick to that. Rather than actually having full weeks off I cycle my training as follows.
Level 1 = Very Low intensity
Level 5 = Very High intensity
Week 1 = Level 1
Week 2 = Level 2
Week 3 = Level 3
Week 4 = Level 4
Week 5 = Level 5
Week 6 = Level 5
Week 7 = Level 3
Week 8 = Level 1
Week 9 = Level 2
Week 10 = Level 3
Week 11 = Level 4
ad infinitum
Level 1 = Very Low intensity
Level 5 = Very High intensity
Week 1 = Level 1
Week 2 = Level 2
Week 3 = Level 3
Week 4 = Level 4
