The missing fight of the early 30s.
15 rounds, both in prime.
I guess, it would be interesting. Both could provide decent fights. I'd pick Baer to win by a dec or a late stoppage. He simply was a better fighter, a tougher and sharper one. The major performances of both were against Schmeling and Carnera, whom Baer beat down way more decisively, than Sharkey did. I see Baer-Sharkey as an action-packed affair with Max gradually establishing dominance.
What are your thought about that?

Re: Max Baer vs Jack Sharkey
It really depends what version of the two men show up. Sharkey was incredibly inconsistent. Very hot and cold fighter. Baer dropped losses when he shouldn't either but he hit so hard that the losses came less frequently than for Sharkey.
I think it would be a very entertaining contest but I ultimately think Baer, in a modern point system rather than a round system, pulls off the victory. Provided that both men were not at their best.
Now if Sharkey was that his best a very well could have won a close but unanimous decision. If Baer was at his best he most likely stops Sharkey much like he did Schmeling.

Sharkey would have his moments out-boxing Baer in the early rounds, but Baer would cut him off the ring and swarm all over him then knocking Sharkey out in the late rounds.
