Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Hassan Azim certainly does anyway lol.
Ilya Popov (Russia) is a very skilled fighter but not known for stoppages , yet he knocked out Azim with head gear on so glass will certainly shatter in the pros. You can't fix a bad chin.
Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Hassan isn't very good at all. Late starter- won't make it past British level.
Adam has alot of hype. Undecided how far he can go.

Yep. If every boxer who’d been stopped/dropped as an amateur at good level is written off then we wouldn’t be left with many fighters.mickey1975 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 07:36He's excellent. To box at that level proves how good he is rather than the opposite.

Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
he was levelled there, flail arm and everything, great kd from rusko
Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Not seen anything off him , but to be at that level you must be good ,, how good ,, well that remains too be seen ,, , But straight away i noticed he had been timed , and punched with ,,, look at his distance , look at his setup and then count , you know when there coming and the other kid just timed and punched with him ,,, a good pro trainer will get him out of that , its ameteurs , and like i said theres got to be something to compete at that level.
Wonder if its actually a fault going around at the moment with the training not the lads ,,, last year a trainer i know asked me if i could do some work with a kid ,he had for a fight he had with an english kid who had come to OZ with a great record , from the UK differnt titles ect ect ,,, anyway i watched a couple of videos of said english kid , and told the young Aussie who was going to be a big underdog You will ko him
How he asked , i told him in fact got in and shown him in slow mo ,we worked together twice a week for a couple months , and i explained its all habit forming , that kids gonna come at you he will bounce a couple times ,, , come in with set combo , stop for a split second and mnove , be tricky and do it again ,, you will stand your ground , watch for the bounce ,, count his 3 punches and let an overhand right go , catching him on the split second he admires his own work ,
Result 1st round ko , excatly has i said ,,, he asked me how did i know , my answer was simple he's got a great record doing that so he does'nt see the need to change , and besides when you turn pro thats why you pay trainers a percentage , to tell you these things .. The Rusky simply timed him ,, like i said a good pro trainer will stop that

its something to consider, dont agree with it being totally ignored, but 1 instance isnt too ominous, it's not like pricey where he had loads of it (and still a lot of ppl buried their heads in the sand at that)
Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
This is the problem with having celebrity trainers, they just rely on the fighters amateur pedigree and don't get brought on, Josh Kelly is an obvious example.coneye wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 04:42

Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Just looked the kid up on the records , that bout was a few years ago ,, no doubt he will have improved or you would thinks so , Shane is probably one off the better celebrity trainers out there ,, watching interviews with him he seems to have, what i call the eye ,, which is the important part ,, Unlike some who just talk nonsence and has my dead father in law used to say , talk enough bullshit and baffle everyones brains . Another one he used to say was talk enough science and you will dazzle them all with your inteligence ,maverick23 wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 08:09Shane McGuiganCoco wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 06:32This is the problem with having celebrity trainers, they just rely on the fighters amateur pedigree and don't get brought on, Josh Kelly is an obvious example.coneye wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 04:42

Regards Shane , i will admit i have said on here a few times he's too young not got the experience , to be a coach off real top boxers ,,, but changed my mind on him , especielly after watching an interview where he was asked if he would train AJ , i was suprised and impressed when he said NO , he would'nt allow AJ to be in charge , that showed maturity , .
The other one though Davidson , he's still a knob of the highest order , stuffed if i know how and why they go to him

I rate Shane really highly. Did really well with Frampton and Taylor and I think he’s improved Okolie massively. I can’t think of anyone who’s got worse through being with him.coneye wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 09:31Just looked the kid up on the records , that bout was a few years ago ,, no doubt he will have improved or you would thinks so , Shane is probably one off the better celebrity trainers out there ,, watching interviews with him he seems to have, what i call the eye ,, which is the important part ,, Unlike some who just talk nonsence and has my dead father in law used to say , talk enough bullshit and baffle everyones brains . My only concern with him is the amount of sparring his fighters seem to do - a heck of a lot. Will get them sharp but doesn’t help their longevity.
Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Didn't do anything for Fowler but I guess he is hard to train.

Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Thats just 1 of 2 KOs from Popovs record of many fights on boxrec. So hes definitely not a puncher. And he's heavily dropped Azim there with a headguard on, Even walking to the ref afterwards he looked n a bad way.. He'd have been brutally taken out had that continued. Azim was nowhere near Popovs level, hope Popov turns pro in the near future.
Usually when a fighter shows terrible punch resustance like that, it continues into the pros. You can't put muscles on a chin. Azim says his idol is Amir Khan, well he seems to the same chin as him. Seems to be a very common problem with south asian fighters tbh.

Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Doesn't mean Popov isn't a puncher - it's just a completely different game from the pro's
Thomas Hearns wasn't the brutal powerpuncher in the amateurs that he was as a professional.

Getting caught cleanly by a world class operator like Popov in the ams can lead you to getting stopped...

Re: Azim Brothers have Glass Chins
Correct , speed plus timing = Power . ,, and he was timed to perfection , with a punch i had to rewind to see what it was ,, situation like that on the button and anyone can go ,,Fray Bentos wrote: ↑10 Jan 2022, 01:22 Doesn't mean Popov isn't a puncher - it's just a completely different game from the pro's
