He's been quiet these past months.

His injury must have healed by now. I wonder, will we see him back in the ring by the summer?

There's a few PBC heavyweights he's not yet fought, such as Kownacki and Martin. I wonder who will his opponent be when he returns?

Wilder is done, he is a zero draw on his own, there is no demand to see him fight another pbc patsy.

The only payday he has left is to wait and be sacrificed to the AJ Usyk winner which will be AJ. But wilder has no leverage to demand anything, he has to take what Eddie will give him. So in the meantime wilder will lay now and say he's considering retirement, working on rehabbing fake injuries, while waiting to be set up with one pbc comeback fight before the UK sacrifice to AJ. IMO.

But both men will almost certainly need a tune-up beforehand (Wilder needs a confidence builder and Ruiz Jr. needing to rid himself of the ring-rust due to being inactive for so long through injury).

I still feel this bout happens, since they’re the biggest names in the PBC’s heavyweight roster.

You don't understand how PBC Haymon work. Ruiz and wilder are Haymon's two heavyweight division chess pieces. He will not match them and have the one who loses lose value. Haymon is in protective mode for both, waiting for an opportunity (Ruiz has been promised a third AJ fight, Wilder's last payday is a shot at AJ or Usyk). wilder and ruiz will never, just as spence and thurman were both protected from each other to maintain each's value. Same reason why Floyd and Paul Williams never fought. And Stevenson and Beterbiev. Do you understand now?

They could have easily happened as in house set up. But Haymon did not want to depreciate asset value by having two lose. He had bigger alternative plans for all four. Not like porter berto breazeale kaufman szpilka adam kownacki who are just pawns.

I would actually love to see wilder/ruiz though, regardless of how little chance it has of happening, it’s a matchup that’s fascinated me for years

Someone like Helenius followed by Ruiz would be the best we can realistically hope for even if it would be unlikely. If he was to win both of them then he can realistically face one of the losers of Fury/Whyte/AJ/Usyk for big money.

I can easily see that situation playing out precisely as you described.

But I do feel the Ruiz Jr. fight could be a huge banana skin for him though.

If the American fails to land his one-hitter-quitter early, I can see Andy stopping a fatigued Wilder during the second half of their bout (assuming it eventually happens).

Stick him in with Joyce or Helenius next then he can target the loser of Usyk vs Joshua rematch and then a possible final fight with the hopefully undisputed champ, if he gets past those other two fights.

Late 2009 2010 but WIlliams would have beat Floyd by KO or 120-108. Impossible fight for Floyd, totally impossible. Paul Williams trainer co manager George Peterson said Paul "would have put Floyd in an ambulance." Unfortunately for Paul, he never sold tickets and he was always a lower priority for Haymon, Floyd was always Haymon's top priority, Floyd got all the privileges, special treatment and careful PROTECTION.

Wilder could be thrown in a nice mix with the PBC guys like Helenius, Ruiz, Sanchez, but he'll fight the lesser opposition and hope for a shot.
