Thought I'd repost this to the history section, I'd love to know more about Mr Ratchford
235 bouts in a 24 year career.
I remember reading about Harold Ratchford in Jack Doughty's book on Jock McAvoy. His name popped up numerous times with descriptions of his bouts, mainly in the Oldham area for Joe Tolley. He was regarded as a silky smooth fighter who fought anyone and everyone.
What a record.. And to think he didn't appear to have boxed for any titles. I believe he became a police officer after his retirement...
Anyone know anything else about him?
