Ben went up in my estimations last night. I have never heard another promoter talk so directly into the camera about a decision and his disappointment with the officials. It's was Ben's show and it wasn't as if the home fighter had been f****d over but fair play to Ben. He emphasised his disappointment and the sour taste it left.

That being said, it's early days and Shalom needs to make a good impression to get people on board and on side as he builds his promotion up.

I think back to the early days of Eddie Hearn taking over matchroom boxing and he changed things up, gave us very good cards with great atmospheres and seemed to be taking (some) risks with his fighters, in comparison to Warren anyway.

But as he solidified his position as number 1, things began to change, he was more cautious and ultimately becomes a bit of a villain promoter amongst boxing fans just out to make as much money as possible off the back of his fighters.

How does somebody in their 20's become CEO of a boxing promotion company that suddenly gets a contract with Sky ?

Looking on companies house he was also director of 4 very small businesses, all of which are either dissolved or struck-off.

Ben is allegedly from a very rich and powerful Jewish family. He had a huge loan to set Boxxer up from an unknown source. A few suggested it was Kinahan but who knows.

Nobody goes from 'running club nights at University' to getting the exclusive boxing rights of the country's biggest platform without some dodgy dealings.

I’m not sure why his family’s ethnicity is relevant. I think they have a bathroom company which may have made them reasonably well off but I don’t think selling their fair share of bathroom fixtures and fittings makes them rich and powerful.

The Kinahan link is plausible though, how else would Macklin still have such a prominent role on Sky when there are so many other co comms who don’t have the dark shadow of links to gangland thugs hanging over them

Shalom first got involved in the Ultimate Boxxer series song side a couple of boxers. Crolla was one, I think Hatton was in there too. Got a contract with Channel 5 as well.. it was a good starting point.

His parents are top end lawyers.

There was an IFL interview (since deleted) where he said he was meeting an advisor in the Middle East who was instrumental in getting him into boxing and was advising him.
