Josh Taylor quiet on social media since fight

Post by Controversial »

I think a fighter knows when they've lost and when they won. Why do you think he hasn't posted anything?

He’s probably knackered after it. His face was a mess and from the close ups he appeared to be concussed.

I’m holding out hope he comes out with something decent soon and offers Catterall a rematch.

I noticed he staggered a little bit once he got up from the knockdown, has he been down or hurt before ?

Not dropped. He’s took much better punches also and been fine.

I’m not making excuses for the guy. He got beat fair and square I just want him to do the right thing, give Catterall some credit and rematch him.

He claimed before the fight and even after he done the weight fine.

While morally he should give Catt a rematch, it's a bad idea, he is dead at the weight and has bigger fish to fry.

Unfortunately Catt will have to make do with a vacant WBO shot.

Even a belated admission would restore some of my respect for him.
It went out the window during the after fight press conference.

No doubt Taylor struggles at weight but I mentioned on another thread , 2 of main things to affect a weight drained fighter is stamina and punch resistance, those were Taylor's best attributes against Catterall, I know he got knocked down but he stood up to some heavy shots throughout, I'm not buying the weight issues sorry, Catterall boxed his ears off and beat him up

So he is blaming the weight on his win (sorry loss).

He did look awful at the weigh in though , I think his flat performance was down to that .

Just gutted that the right man didn't get what he deserved on the night .

Thought his post three is in order. Can't blame him for not saying "oh yeah I lost, I'm a fake champion now".

He lost a lot of fans with the way he behaved after the fight.

I don't know what it is, but there is something really unlikable about Taylor. And I thought that before Saturday.

I know what you mean. I think that he has to dislike his opponent to bring the best out of himself but by doing that he comes across as a bit of a mug. When I see interviews of him on his own he seems alright

Think it was Catterall and not the weight that was the issue.

Catterall hadn't fought above British class so we don't know.

Personally I feel Taylor was sub par and to be honest I don't know how much credit to give Jack for that.

And of course we don't know for sure how much the weight hurt him, he is certainly very big for a 10 stoner.

Explain how the weight affected him? Like actually in the fight explain? Catterall was ready for him. Nullified him inside, Taylor usually creates space inside and finds angles. Catterall shut it all down. Good timing and speed outside. Catterall just proved he is legit at world level.

Maybe he made weight ok but felt flat in the fight and now thinking it affected him after all ?
