What's going on with Eddie Hills?
Despite banging on about Devin Haney and Andrade for years, one has left and the other he's let go.... AJ is probably 12 rounds away from retirement... Global superstar Conor Benn gets a quarter of the arena opened up for him. Yet he insists that everything is going well....

Is he putting all his eggs in one basket? A very expensive basket.

Re: What's going on with Eddie Hills?
He's got a two fight deal with the biggest draw in the sport and his USA deal is different from his UK one. I think he knows full well what he's doing with DAZN in the UK. You'd need to go through his contract to know for sure but he's not daft.
Re: What's going on with Eddie Hills?
He's put on some of the best fights he's ever done over the past year but DAZN has been a disaster and the grand vision he drew out early last year has really come to nothing. He's never looked so rattled.
Re: What's going on with Eddie Hills?
Hearn looking rattled ? we must be on parallel universes cause to me he comes across calm and collected.
In comparison to Fwank who bellows and turns beetroot
DAZN cards are quality, miles better than other broadcasters.
I bet they win some footy rights in 2024/25,
they’ll also get a channel on sky platform to show PPVs,
can’t see AJ retiring for another 15 years, he can continue making £MILLIONS,
MATCHROOM have a quality stable of future stars

Re: What's going on with Eddie Hills?
I think Eddie is a little rattled but ultimately he’s still broadly doing a show a week and I’ve really enjoyed the bulk of U.K./US cards so far this year on DAZN.
When he joined DAZN he was probably expecting them to have won some football rights (I’d guess the European Super League) but that he wasn’t worked out and Eddie/DAZN haven’t got themselves widely known to casual sports fans. Until they get more rights and subscribers it puts him on the back foot in the U.K. as they can’t compete with Sky viewers.
Re: the US, I think the Andrade call is the right decision. We can all probably agree that he was being overpaid in relation to the fights he was involved in. It’s a shame Haney will be off DAZN (for a while at least) but I respect his desire to after the undisputed so hard. I wish more fighters did that.
I’d more worried for FWarren. He’s had 2 shows in the first quarter of the year which has delivered one good domestic fight for the hardcores. If Whyte lands a punch from the gods and it only delivers 750k buys then it’ll put him really on the back foot. And that’s not taking into account Tyson retiring after this fight which he’s said previously.

Re: What's going on with Eddie Hills?
I think the move to DAZN remains a gamble where we won't know the outcome for some time. Ultimately, UK subscribers aren't going to sign up for boxing alone - it will live or die depending on what else it can show.
None of my "casual" mates have subscribed - the ones who paid recently for Brook-Khan, watched Eubank-Williams etc. The key is get to them on board, not the relatively small number of boxing fanatics.
This is why it blows my mind that BT aren't pushing FW to deliver better shows - the time to gain ground on Matchroom is now, but the quality of Queensbury shows so far this year have been shocking.
It really doesn't help that the fairly small pool of UK TV quality fighters is divided between Matchroom, Queensbury, Boxxxxxxxxxer, Mighty Mick, Wassupman and Probellew.

I agree regarding Andrade, but it makes you think, how much did they lose on him? Plus all the others he hasn't been said to see go.
