Colin Lake v Lynn James June 16 1964

When Lyn James tragically died in a contest with Colin Lake on June 16 1964, Boxing News got it wrong. They reported that the bout was stopped in the fifth round when, in fact, it was stopped in the sixth. I have referee Sid Nathan's scorecard as evidence. You will see that the fifth round was scored to Lake and that the stoppage therefore occurred in the sixth.

You could ask why Sid did not complete his scorecard as he should have done, by recording the fact that the bout ended in round six but, given the tragic circumstances, one can forgive him.

Could the stoppage please be corrected to the sixth, as opposed to the fifth round. You can quote me as a source of you wish, and refer to the scorecard accordingly
