Hodkinson stopped the Scot Anderson in the third round of their ABA featherweight final at Wembley in 1986 and not the second round as stated. Anderson went into the fight with an injured right hand and was unable to hold off Hodkinson, who had beaten the likes of Colin McMillan and John Davison on the way to Wembley. Hodkinson nailed Anderson with a big left hook early in the final round and the referee stepped in.
