Deontay Wilder to continue fighting

Post by Controversial »

Just seen an article on Sky News in the UK, the WBC president said Wilder is looking forward to returning to the ring.

if fury retires, watch that wbc belt :oo

i can see ruiz-ortiz being for it (might be too soon though), and wilder fights the winner

or the winner fights wilder for the vacant title

I don't care to see a Wilder vs Ortiz 3. Wilder vs Ruiz would be entertaining, until Wilder KO's him.

Just noticed boxrec.com have scrubbed Fury off the active heavyweight rankings, so maybe there is a nice easy vacant belt the bronze blatherer can pick up and avoid anyone difficult for a few years.
Realistically he fights either Joyce or Parker ( or the winner of) for it.
As with anything Wilder says, take it with a grain of salt...

Deontay is an exciting fighter, he went out on shield against Fury.
As long as he's rested and medically cleared I'd be glad to see him back in the mix.

Since the Parker vs Joyce fight is a WBO elimination. I figure the WBC will either remove the winner from their rankings or skip over them.
My prediction is Wilder vs Sanchez

Me too.

He may not be the most technically skilled heavyweight, but his fights are never dull to watch.

usyk would beat him. can outbox him and has the fitness to do it for 12, and also come back from any rough patches. basically, outperform artur szpilka a bit. contrary to popular belief, wilder doesnt usually just touch a guy once and then fight over

plus i have to wonder what he's going to be like now. he's about to turn 37, coming off a brutal ko loss and back to back ko losses. no wins in 2.5 years and has been doubting whether he still wants to box, etc. all the signs of a guy on the way down who will get surprised by someone he mightve beaten easily at one point

That sentence speaks volumes.

I've no doubt good ol' Mauricio Sulaiman already has an enticing package awaiting Deontay's return.

Sheesh!

These 2 have alreadyconned a generation of boxing fans.

If DW wants to return, and if its for the WBC strap, then it's got to be a statement fight.

Enough is enough.

It's not as if there's a shortage of heavyweights already in the queue.

WBC con merchants would want wilder as champ so they can continue their disgraceful protection racket .

Hopefully Ruiz gets past grandpa Ortiz, but have my doubts.

I doubt it too, ortiz at 50 isn't as robotic to get caught with the combinations Ruiz put aj on his ripped asss.

he would take one, make a sidestep and continue tagging Ruiz from the outside.

but who knows, depends a lot in what shape Ruiz comes back and how ortiz stays in shape.

Yeah, I think Ruiz's only chance is to stay in in it to the later rounds and hope Ortiz gasses out.

:o Really?
Big Frank, the Cuban Flash Sanchez?
OK, well I never considered him at all.
I'm too biased to write an opinion on how that would go.
A very bad clash of styles is all I can say.

Like Fury has said, Wilder, as many flaws he has as a boxer, would probably beat 99% of the rest.
Usyk? Either Wilder would KO him or get embarassed and outboxed. Not one I'd lay hard earned money on.
