I have been watching some british fights from the 70s and 80s and was drawn towards the deep coloured cherry red gloves they used to wear made by Baileys.

In some of the fights it looks as if the gloves had been worn before. No new shiny gloves like today...

Promoters buy new gloves and reuse them for as long as can!

I've got a pair of Baileys, they are a deep brown, black colour and horsehair! From the 60's and 70's

I’ve two pairs of Horse hair gloves from what I assume are the 40s or 50s. They’re almost grey in colour. Hard to believe they were once red.

Takes me right back. Boxing News used a single Bailey's glove as a logo after Hurry Mullan took over as editor in the summer of 1977. Every full page of British reports had the logo at the top of the page.

What happened to bryan gloves/equipment?

Other than Lonsdale they were the name. They seems to just die overnight.

Never used to like the Bryan gloves. They were so ugly looking. Cheap
