I would like to tell you the sad news that former World Featherweight Champion Johnny Famechon had passed away at 77. RIP Champ :verysad: :salut:

Very sad news. Johnny won the WBC featherweight title in Britain with a 15-round decision over Jose Legra at the Albert Hall and retained twice against Japanese great Fighting Harada before Mexico's Vicente Saldivar launched an unlikely comeback and took a close decision over Famechon in Rome. Johnny was a no-frills boxer who got on with the job when others fought in spurts. He never loved boxing and was out of the game by the age of 24.
