Realistically fights to be made for Andrade @ 168? Parker, Berlanga, Ryder, etc?

Post by apollo creed »

Now that Andrade released the pressure of fighting Zhanibek, what he'd do at 168? Same path like 154 and 160 or he'd get better fights? I guess Andrade is a free agent now, so he could fight PBC guys too like Plant and Benavidez?

Personally I'd like to see Andrade staying active. Ryder/Munguia winner, Berlanga, Plant, Jacobs, Benavidez would be good fights for Andrade but are unlikely to happen soon. Andrade has that stamp of being a boring, risky & not sellable fighter , so I doubt the top names from 168 would want to fight him.

I've made another list with opponent for Andrade:

Mark Heffron
Hassan N'Dam
Rosado
Rocky Fielding
Brian Vera
Chavez Jr
Avni Yıldırım

Rosado and Chavez Jr would be some notable names on Andrade's resume. Also if Andrade could get a fight with Sergio Martinez @ 168, then is another good name on his resume. I saw that Sturm is competing too. :TU: :box:

He'll fight nobody decent while claiming they are all avoiding him.

That's what will happen. :OhYes:

Never mind.

The WBO have only gone and approved Andrade vs. Parker for the Interim world title.

Negotiations will commence once again.

Queensberry submits a tiny purse bid and Andrade refuses to take the Parker bout.

Demetrius hasn’t got a title anymore. He’s devalued himself.

Andrade should fight a fellow or two in a parkinglot or a bar or something. That or get into a verbal altercation with his gf, really though this fake champion should just go f himself. When it comes to boxing he is definitely part of the problem.

Exactly.
He doesn't bring truckloads of money with him anyway, title or no title.
He just isn't very popular, fun to watch, or listen to.
And yet in his own mind, he is the most exciting, fan friendly boxer who rivals only Canelo for popularity and earning potential

He should pull out a Broner depression mode, showering in a chair and all that stuff.

Also he's not a spring chicken anymore. But he could get a shot at that wbo 168 title by fighting a few stiffs and then try to unify with Benavidez, if Bena will get the wbc title.

Neither ESPN not TBRB consider Zach Parker as being a top-ten world-rated super-middleweight.

And BoxRec reckons he’s only had one amateur bout.

Wow, your right- 34 is on the cusp of old overnight. I thought he was a couple of years younger. I can't see promoters wanting to pour any real investment into him, given his age.
We he ain't having a long reign even if he goes for a title. Be a good "0" for someone's resume though.

Andrade needs to go right into negotiations with Plant, Benevides, and Morrell. Anything short of that is a waste of time.

I think atm Andrade values very high his "0" more than ever. Its his only "asset". Benavidez and Morell are hoping to get a fight with Canelo . Plant would probably fight Charlo in the future.

Atm Andrade is a free agent with no title and also I don't think he has any financial backup to make substantial offers. Every top / good name at smw is looking forward to get the best valuable fight.

So, I think Andrade would probably keep fighting stiffs, till one of then would Knock Andrade out.

Yeah, he is another Jason Quigley.

Andrade should've taken that Korobov fight at that time but he probably thought the risk is big, reward low and the mw division is poor., so he stayed at jr mw hoping he would land a Cotto or Canelo fight.

At jr mw Andrada could've fought Kirkland, Angulo, Trout, Lara, Hurd, J. Williams, Harrison. I mean he had options to stack his resume with better opposition and build up his profile.

Yeah but also he is boring to watch him fighting or talking. He has no solid fan base.

You actually quoted me saying the same thing, but it will drop off tgis quote. I was more far reaching :
"He just isn't very popular, fun to watch, or listen to."
