It's 2022, why is this still a conversation?

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Mayweather avoided both a peak Khan and a peak Pacquiao.
Both for the same reason - speed.
No doubt both would have been highly entertaining fights if they had took place.
Khan spent years and years seeking that fight.
He'd probably take it now if it was offered. A Floyd Mayweather fight often meant 12 rounds of light sparring for a shedload of money.

I don't see any version of Pacquiao beating Floyd. Pacquiao has no jab, and can't cut off the ring.Thomastearns wrote: ↑28 Aug 2022, 14:19 Mayweather avoided both a peak Khan and a peak Pacquiao.

He even made a Canelo fight boring.

Yes. It's not logical to assume that Khan would ever have beaten Floyd but there is one thing on Khans record that is a bit of an anomaly and that's his Ko win over Zab Judah. Amir made beating Zab look easy while Zab gave Floyd the toughest fight of his career.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
And Mayweather easily outpointed Canelo and Canelo KO'd Kahn. Kahn at 140 was a bigger puncher than Mayweather, Judah had a vulnerable chin, like Kahn. Also, Jose Luis Castillo and Maidana gave Floyd a much tougher fight than JudahH8Usernames wrote: ↑29 Aug 2022, 07:44 Yes. Yup. My bad, shouldn't have said chin. I was thinking of the Tsyzu fight. I thought Judah was either trying to buy a penalty for low blow or quit v Kahn. Didn't look like a big shotIKSRTFO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2022, 10:46Khan KOd Judah with a body shotgiacomino wrote: ↑29 Aug 2022, 10:16And Mayweather easily outpointed Canelo and Canelo KO'd Kahn. Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Somewhat true, but I think the Judah chin thing even with the Tyszu fight is overstated. Tyszu had a murderous right hand with timing and Judah did take a lot of shots from Cotto before wilting. At that time, Khan was the only fighter to dominate Judah start to finish
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Canelo KOd Khan which was inevitable, but Khan was out boxing Canelo as long as he was on his feet. Khan would've give Floyd major problems until Floyd turned it up late stopping himgiacomino wrote: ↑29 Aug 2022, 10:16And Mayweather easily outpointed Canelo and Canelo KO'd Kahn. Agree. Khan is ahead in nearly every fight the first 2 rounds, then he gets figured out. Floyd might even KO Khan. Their ring IQ'S are light years apart.tiny_acres wrote: ↑28 Aug 2022, 13:46Floyd cruises to an easy ud 12.

Khan: Prime vs. Prime - I'm Very Confident I Would Have Beaten Mayweather!
"You know what? I'd beat him," Khan told Gary Neville on The Overlap. "Honestly, I'd beat him. If I was in my prime and he was in his prime I'm very confident. I'm going to get a lot of hate for that, I'm sorry guys but you have to believe in yourself and that's one thing I've always done throughout my career.
"I think stylistically when Mayweather was a lot younger he had a lot of speed, a lot of movement. But I feel that my speed would have beaten his speed, my movement would have beaten his movement and he really wasn't the biggest puncher in the game so it would have been like a game of chess but I would have outboxed him."
