Which lineal heavyweight champions do you think he would beat?
Is nothing sacred, brother? If you put Jones in a time machine back to the 1919, with no PEDs, a simple diet, the hot sun and Dempey with his killer instinct, I don't think Roy could cope.
The Jones that fought Ruiz.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑09 Nov 2022, 15:45 are we talking about the roy jones who actually existed, or a fictional one we make various changes to based on the era his opponent fought

Without the juice Fitz sparks him. Maybe even with the juice. Don't see Jones going 45 rounds with Willard. Rahman needs just one right hand.,margaret thatcher wrote: ↑09 Nov 2022, 15:33no chance against soaking weight 165 pound bob fitz? willard? neon leon? rahman?

What about Dempsey on juice, now that is a scary thought.Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑09 Nov 2022, 16:22Beats Dempsey.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑09 Nov 2022, 16:11The Jones that fought Ruiz.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑09 Nov 2022, 15:45 are we talking about the roy jones who actually existed, or a fictional one we make various changes to based on the era his opponent fought![]()

Makes no difference. He defence was just too crude to compete with more modern boxers. He'd get outboxed and probably stopped by every lineal heavyweight champ after and including Joe Louis.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 06:28What about Dempsey on juice, now that is a scary thought.
He decked the highly skilled Gene Tunney, so he would be in with the slicksters. I would pick him over Charles, Walcott, Marciano, Patterson, Ingo, Neon Leon and Rahman. I would even give him a shot against Fury, if Wilder the Windmill could knock him down numerous time, there's no reason Jack couldn't and if it was before the eight count, he would put Fury down permanently.Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 10:27Makes no difference. Tunney wasn't highly skilled, he was just one of the first old-timers to utilise effectively that modern day staple the jab.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 10:54He decked the highly skilled Gene Tunney, so he would be in with the slicksters.
