I voted 7th (Parker hasn't done anything lately), but I'm perfectly ok with him staying 8th.

I thought Whyte edged it but most think he lost, to a guy that most didn’t have top 50.

If most people think whyte lost to someone they didn’t have top 50 hard to say you should hold your spot at 8. Wild to be voted higher based on that.

It was an undeniably poor performance. I think Whyte has been poor every fight in the last 3 years.

Wasn't terribly impressed with Whyte, not sure he'd have done any better than Parker against Joyce, but he did edge the win by winning the championship rounds against a decent operator. Keep him at 8.

Wasn't it your rule from the last time out that we cannot vote a boxer down for winning a fight? Double standards here...

I got told off.. Because apparently, it should be an option.

Not really my rules on this. We do it collectively don't we?

My vote is to keep him at 8.

Just because it's an option to vote him down, doesn't mean you need to,

you got to be able to vote down on a win.

If AJ fought Lenroy Thomas and got knocked down 6 times then in the 11th round lenroy dislocated his shoulder and retired hurt... it would be insane for AJ to hold his position.

Above is an absurd over exagerated example, but as for reality i dont see how people can think whyte lost 7+ rounds agains world number 50 and not go back a spot or 2. If the judges gave it to franklin we clearly would of voted whyte down, even if the fight was identical.

:TU:

plus sometimes fighters just drift too far up , have been inactive, etc....if they score a meaningless win or struggle badly vs someone they shouldnt it's sometimes fair to move them down

i dont move whyte down here though because i think he got ranked slightly too low after the fury loss , hence now he's actually where he should be after a performance like this

Yeh he got sparked against Fury.

But I think the ‘push’ did more damage.

Whyte has barely handled an unranked fighter. Jalolov fought a can. No change.

Stay the same.

I want to drop Whyte a spot but not below Chisora. I think he lost to Franklin, or at best drew.

Chisora did as well vs parker and pulev as whyte did vs franlin... why not drop him bellow. It kinda feels wrong because chisora is older and should be more faded, but i think whyte has faded from his prime more than chisora has....

Can always correct it If/when fury batters chissy boy.

That's true. If the judges had given the win to Franklin I would have voted him out of the top 15. His performance was quite appalling, but a win is a win is a win. So keeping him at 8th looks ok, at least until he's sent to sleep by someone not named Tyson Fury.

Dillian Whyte Defends Performance: “I Went Into The Fight With A Biceps Injury, Chest Infection”

“I never get no credit,” said Whyte on Behind The Gloves. “I fought a young undefeated guy. I went into the fight with a biceps injury, chest infection.”

“The main thing with me was mentally. You’ve seen fighters lose lately. It’s not easy.”

Allow me to interpret that statement :

He was up against a top 50 short blobby with pillows for fists in a fight set up perfectly to make a big statement ready for the rematch with AJ - and he lost.

Btw, the fat Franklin should have received a loss against Jerry Forrest.

First we'd have to start spelling his name correctly

Apparently it's Derek although everyone has been spelling it Dereck until very recently. BoxRec and Wikipedia now both say Derek
