It could be an interesting fight. Both were skillful and tough competitors. You can bring different arguments based on the respective performances against Bruno and Chagaev, Pinky Thomas and Takam, Bonecrusher and Whyte, Carl Williams and Mike Hunter Jr, but it's hard to pick Povetkin, who lost to Klit in a one-sided fashion, over Witherspoon, who gave Holmes a helluva fight.

Witherspoon 116-112.

Povetkin is a lot more consistent and takes it on points.

Witherspoon would fought Holmes, the Truth Williams, first Greg Page fight, Tony Tubbs and Frank Bruno would out-jab Povetkin and landed more shots on the outside and inside along with his overhand right hands to either take a decision or stop him late if the fight goes 15 rounds like in the Tony Tubbs fight.
