Oddly enough it must be noted that for a very brief time Tex Cobb actually was in the running to fight Tommy Morrison for the WBO heavyweight title. Cobb was on the comeback trail and had a string of knockouts before the Sonny Barch fight took place, after which Sports Illustrated published a story saying that Cobb's opponent took a dive as both men tested positive for cocaine.

That being said I tend to believe that Tommy Morrison would win a unanimous decision over Cobb, because as much as I like the tough Texan he didn't really have that much firepower and he didn't really put punches together all that well. So this would not be at all like the Ross Purrity fight, who is the only person Tommy Morrison fought with incredible toughness just like Tex Cobb but who was more harder punching.

The Duke would nail Tex with many left hooks and would take a decision or Tex would pound him for the decision win as well.

Draw. Probably a unanimous draw. Morrison had better skills and power, and Cobb was tougher and more durable. Could definitely see Tommy hitting Tex at will, but not doing much damage. Also could see Tex pressing Tommy at times but not really hurting him. It all evens out.

Tommy would win a wide UD. Cobb would take some rounds if Morrison punched himself completely out on his anvil head, but I doubt he'd stop him.

He might though. If Morrison paced himself intelligently he'd win. If he went all out for the KO, he might wind up getting KO'd.
