Anthony Yarde Chin ... Rank It

Post by Evander »

Yarde has that big fight coming up with Beterbiev so it's an appropriate question.
He looks the part Yarde, fought Kovalev on the road way back when.
What do you think of his chin today ?

Why? Because he got KO'd by one of the hardest hitting LHWs of the last 30 years? And even then he sustained a massive amount of damage before the KO.

it wasnt a massive amount of damage, kov basically just jabbed jabbed jabbed him, the ko was even from a jab. to yarde's chin's defense about that ko loss......it looked partially due to exhaustion too and he had looked sturdy enough prior to the last 2 rounds.

it's hard to rate his chin because he's fought so many light hitters and cans. his chin's at least good enough not to be hurt by any of them, which he might have been if it were total glass. he probably wouldve gone down earlier vs kov too if it were a poor chin, but i dont think he took the type of shots that really proved a top flight chin either considering he was ko'd.

i'd guess it's somewhere from average to good..............not poor or very good

The KO wasn't even because of the damage, but from exhaustion.
We don't really know how good his chin really is, but does it really matter?
If Joe Smiths chin get's destroyed in two, any chin in the division can be cracked by Beterviev.

Nothing to say he hasn't got a decent chin, and he'll fcuking need it. That said he's got a fair dig himself, looking forward to this one.

The Krusher broke him down I feel.
It was a mix of exhaustion, being busted up from eating a lot of hard jabs, and Kov's power.
Yarde was wound up tight right from the opening bell, so much wasted nervous energy and he was tight in the upper body making Kov's jab even more concussive.
I think we all know it was too soon for him.

Seems solid enough. Was gassed vs Kov when he got stopped. It will be impressive if beterb knocks him quick, impressive but not a huge shock.

Very, very solid. You don't fight Kovalev and Beterbiev the way he did for that long without having a very solid chin. It's not Canelo or Golovkin tier, but whose is?
